I have been more than half a year since I came to New Zealand.
I still don’t realize that I have lived in New Zealand for less than four months.
My host father’s cousin’s child died two weeks before the expected birth so on July first, I went to Tokoroa with my host family for a funeral.
Unlike Japan, everyone participated in the funeral with plain clothes, and everyone sang in a circle in front of the grave.
Finally the kids blew balloons into the sky.
The funeral is held at a burial, and I think it will be an unforgettable experience that everyone sends the deceased fun and warmly.
I think this was a very good experience for me.
There was a two week holiday from July third.
I went to the Sky Tower, cinema, Onehunga Dressmart outlet and New Market Westfield which rebuilt in August last year during this two weeks holiday.
I’m glad I can understand the movie a little more than when I came to New Zealand.
I couldn’t go out because of the coronavirus during the last term holiday, so I was able to go out to various places during this term holiday and I was glad that I learned a lot about New Zealand.
Since the term four has a study period for a NCEA exam, I think the term three will be the last term where I can study with a local child every day.
I want to do my best for the remaining four months.

ニュージーランドに来て半年以上が経ち、ニュージーランドでの生活も残り４ヶ月を切ったことにまだ実感がありません。
私は7月1日にホストファザーのいとこのお子さんが産まれる予定の2週間前に亡くなってしまったため、ホストファミリーと一緒にトコロアという所にお葬式に行きました。日本とは違って、みんな私服で行きお墓ではみんなが円になって歌を歌い最後には風船を飛ばしました。お葬式は土葬で行われ、みんなが故人を楽しく、暖かく送り出している姿は一生忘れられないと思います。これは私にとってとてもいい経験になったと思います。
7月3日からは2週間の休日がありました。私はこの2週間休みでスカイタワーや映画、去年の8月に再建されたばかりのNewMarket Westfieldというショッピングモール、Onehunga Dressmartというアウトレットなどいろいろな場所に行きました。前回のターム休みではコロナウイルスの影響で外に出かけることは出来なかったので今回のターム休みではいろいろな場所へ出かけることができて、ニュージーランドについてたくさん知ることができたので良かったです。
4学期は全国模試のための勉強期間があるため、3学期が毎日現地の子と一緒に勉強できる最後の学期になると思います。残り4ヶ月精一杯頑張りたいと思います。
