カナダ（１年留学）　Ｙさん

こんにちは、皆さんどうお過ごしですか。カナダは雪が溶け始め、だんだん春を感じるような季節になってきました。
学校生活では、授業が数学、家庭科、美術、英語から、理科、体育、演劇、英語に変わりすごく不安でしたが、一つ一つ自分なりに考え、時には先生や他の生徒に助けてもらいながら学習出来ていると思います。
私の学校では、今月「バンカー」という物語の発表会をやりました。日本の学校よりもはるかに練習時間が短い中で、生徒達が試行錯誤しながら活動をしました。人数が少ないという点もあり、大変な所も多々ありましたが、出来上がった作品は素晴らしいものになったと思います。
私生活では、ホストマザーと夜ご飯を一緒に作っています。元々料理はやらない方でしたが、新しい経験で今後生きていく中でためになると思うので積極的にお手伝いしています。ホストマザーとおつかいに行くこともとても多く楽しいです。
私のホストファミリーには、私以外にも留学生がいて中国人の方なので中国の文化などを教えてもらったりしてます。バドミントンの羽のようなものを何回もドリブルして遊ぶおもちゃを教えてもらいました。
毎年1月はとても早く過ぎると感じていましたが、今月を振り返ってみるととても長かったと思います。振り返ると自分の中でなんでも完璧に物事を進めようとしていて、自分を追い詰め苦しくなることが多かったです。これからは、完璧を求め過ぎずに自分なりに頑張っていこうと思います。

Hello, how are you doing?
In Canada, snow is starting to melt.
I can feel spring is coming just around the corner.
The class has changed from Art, Math, English, Home economic and cooking to
English, Drama, Music, Science and P.E.
I’m very nervous, but I think it is a good opportunity for me to learn various subjects here.
At my school, I performed a play called “Bunker”.
The students progressed through trial and error
while the practice time was much shorter than in Japanese school.
The number of people was small, so they had some difficulties,
but I felt it wonderful when we finished the work.
I sometimes cooked dinner with my host mother.
Before I came to Canada, I had never cooked, but
I think it is very important thing in my life and I had a lot of fun cooking.
I also like to go shopping with my host family.
My host family has a Chinese international student.
She is a very nice girl.
I learned about some Chinese cultures.
She gave me a fun toy game which looks like a badminton and
soccer.
Every year in January I feel that time flies faster, but I felt that January this year was very long.
Looking back, I felt that I was too demanding perfection in myself which has made everything harder.
From now on, I want to do my best without thinking that I have to do it perfect.
