It has been seven months since I came here. I can’t believe I‘ll go back to Japan in three months.

I have had so many great experiences in America. There was St. Valentine’s Day when I exchanged cookies and chocolates with my friends. I feel it’s a good culture too give presents to family not only to friends. I am also excited for St. Patrick’s Day this month and learn its traditions. I got hat and gloves from my host family.

Also, I went to Winter Formal Dance. It was the second time for me. The theme was murder mystery. So everyone wore red and black dress. The Winter Formal Dance is like a smaller variation of Prom and Homecoming. I went to my friend’s house and then we got ready together. There were DJ in the place, and it was so fun and I feel time was shorter. I was delighted to take so many pictures. I also made new friends. These were the people who wore Anime character costumes and it was fun to see all the costumes.

It is so warm here lately, but it was snowing in this month!! It seems that it is quite rare to see snow in this area, and I was lucky to see it!

I had never eaten sashimi since I came here, but I ate it for the first time the other day. We ate it with seaweed, rice, avocado and onion. Everyone tried to use chopsticks, but it looked hard. After all, it seems that it is difficult to use it first. The sashimi was so good.

Also I made clay pots with my host brother. We got clay from a hole in the ground from the backyard and then mixed water and we made shapes of pots. After that we put it into oven. I was so surprised it was successful, and it was fun!!

I feel sad to think that I’m going back home soon. I want to spend time more carefully every day.

ここに来てから7ヶ月が経ちました！あと3ヶ月で帰国する実感が湧きません。

今月はバレンタインがありました!みんなでチョコレートやクッキーを送り合いました。お花も貰えて嬉しかったです。マザーからはチョコレートと帽子と手袋を貰いました！バレンタインは友達だけでなく家族にお互い

送り合う文化は素敵だなと思いました。

また、ウィンターフォーマルがありました!アメリカに来てから2回目のダンスパーティでした。今回のウィンターフォーマルは殺人ミステリーパーティだったので黒、赤などのドレスをみんな着ていました。規模的には、プロム>ホームカミング>ウィンターフォーマルだそうです。ドレスがなかったのでどうしようかと思っていたらマザーの友達がドレスショップを経営しているそうなのでそこへいきました！沢山ドレスがあって本当に可愛かったです。私のサイズがあるか心配だったのですが無事見つけることができたのでレンタルしました。ウィンターフォーマル当日は友達の家で一緒に準備をしてから会場に行きました。会場はDJなどもいて盛り上がっていました！憧れだったチェキも撮れて嬉しかったです。とても楽しくて時間が過ぎるのがあっという間でした。新しい友達も作ることができました!ドレスやスーツの人がほとんどだったのですが、日本のアニメの服装をしている人もいて見ているのが楽しかったです。

今月はだいぶ暖かくなってきたのですがなんと雪が降りました。ここの地域で雪が降るのは相当珍しいらしく、みられてラッキーでした！

ここに来てから刺身は食べたことなかったのですが今月初めて食べることができました！アボカドと玉ねぎとサーモンとお米を海苔で巻いてたべました。みんなお箸を使って食べようとしていたのですが苦戦していました。やっぱりお箸を使うのは、最初は難しいそうです。巻くのが難しかったのですが味は美味しかったです！

また、ホストブラザーと一緒に器を作りました。外から土を掘ってきて水を混ぜて形を作りました！その後にオーブンで焼きました。絶対成功しないと思っていたのですがまさかのちゃんと固まっていて感動しました！小さい星型も作ったのですがそれが思っていたよりも可愛くて大成功でした！また機会があればやりたいです。

もうすぐで帰国と思うと悲しいです。友達やファミリーとの時間をもっと大切に1日1日過ごしていきたいです。
