After school, I go to tennis school with my classmates Rin and Yusuke. I was very happy when I was able to ride the bus alone for the first time to the tennis school, which is about 40 minutes by bus. Also, I was very happy when I was able to take the bus alone and shop at the supermarket. There are many unusual foods in Australian supermarkets, which is very interesting to me. I would like to continue to study and explore the Australian city of Adelaide.

There are also several other Japanese people in the tennis school, but I am not only communicating with Japanese people. At the tennis school, I am able to practice tennis while communicating in English with my teammates. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the coach’s English instructions and actually put it into practice. Still, it is a lot of fun to communicate in English through tennis. Every day after school, I go straight to tennis school, come back to eat, take a bath, and do homework. It’s a very busy day, but I live a fulfilling life every day.

Every day is really fun. Studying abroad often comes with many challenges, and problems often arise, but I want to face each new challenge head on. Each and every day has become an irreplaceable memory to me. I would like to cherish this wonderful study abroad experience. I love playing tennis with my friends while spending time in Australia. I will continue to do my best while enjoying English.

日本を出発してから、今日でちょうど一週間がたちました。

こっちでは、とてもゆっくり時間がながれている気がします。

一週間がたった今、だいぶこちらでの生活に慣れてきたと実感しています。

最初は、ホストマザーの話していることが全く理解できず、会話をするにも大変でした。私自身も直ぐに言葉が出てこなくて、文法などを理解していても、実際に言葉にして話すのが難しく感じていました。

でも、最近ではホストマザーの話している事が理解出来るようになってきました。

それに、まだカタコトの英語で文法などもぐちゃぐちゃですが、少しずつホストファミリーとも会話が出来るようになってきました。英語で話して、会話ができたことは、とても嬉しかったですし、自分の成長を感じる事ができました。

そして、28日から学校が始まりました。授業は一般の生徒達と同じ授業で、先生の話している事が全く分からず、授業で何をやっているのかすら理解することが出来ませんでした。

日本語が通じる人が1人もいなくて正直、このままこのクラスでやっていけるのか不安でした。でも、その不安を学校の先生に勇気を出して打ち明けたら、留学生専用のISECのクラスに入れてもらうことができました。ISECのクラスでは、みんな英語を頑張って勉強している子達で、直ぐに仲良くなることができました。先生の話すスピードもゆっくりで理解出来ることも増えてきたと思います。ですが、まだ先生と英語できちんとコミュニケーションを取ることが出来ていないので、少しずつホストファミリーと話す時と同じように話が出来るように頑張ります。
