アメリカ1年留学　Nさん

I came to America 7 months ago. It was raining a lot in February. There were days when it rained for a week in a row. I was happy because it had not rained at all until now. My host mother said it was unusual for it to rain like this. When it rained, I was surprised because students and teachers went outside to see the rain even though they were in class.

Valentine’s Day was organized by people like the student council. People who wanted to participate in Valentine’s Day chose the name of the person they wanted to send a card to and wrote a letter. I was surprised when the student council distributed them during class. I’m glad I received one too!

I also played in a tennis tournament in February. While studying abroad, I thought I wouldn’t play any games anymore, but my friend invited me to play doubles, and I participated in both singles and doubles. I was worried because the bad weather continued and I couldn’t practice at all. However, I was very happy to win the singles championship and reach the top 4 in doubles. The day before the game, my host mother prepared a lot of things that I like for dinner and brought me plenty of Gatorade and protein bars.

I heard that my host family are taking me to California for spring vacation in March, so I’m really looking forward to it!

アメリカに来て7ヶ月がたちました。

2月は雨が降る日が多く、1週間降り続いたこともありました。今まで雨が全くというほど降ってなかったので嬉しかったです。ホストマザーがこんなに雨が降るのは珍しいと言っていて、雨が降ると生徒や先生が授業中にも関わらず外に雨を見に行っていたのでびっくりしました。

2月の行事バレンタインでは、生徒会みたいな方々が運営していました。送りたい人の名前と商品を選んで生徒会の方が授業中に渡し回っていてびっくりしました。私も貰えて良かったです！

また、2月はテニスの試合にも出ました。

留学中はもう試合には出ないと思っていたけれど、友達がダブルスに誘ってくれて、シングルスとダブルスの両方に出場しました。悪天候が続いていたため、練習が充分にできておらず不安でしたが、ダブルスはベスト4、シングルスでは優勝することができ、とても嬉しかったです。試合の前日にはホストマザーが準備をしてくれ、夜ご飯は私の好きなものを作ってくれたり、ゲーターレードやプロテインバーを沢山買ってきてくれて嬉しかったです。

3月は春休みが有りカリフォルニアに連れてってくれると聞いたのでとても楽しみです！
