It has been six months since I came to the U.S on January 27. This month has been filled with exciting events like the New Year and school activities, making it another enjoyable and memorable month. I’ve gained a better understanding of classes and homework at school, and I continue to have fun with friends. On January 3, I gave my school friends belated Christmas presents, packing around 30 bags of Japanese snacks. Among them, everyone loved Jagariko the most, which happens to be my favorite too. I was delighted that they also enjoyed chocolates and other treats. My friends gave me a bracelet with my initials, and I received various other thoughtful gifts. I presented Japanese educational sweets to my host sister and we made and enjoyed sushi that tasted like fruits together. Additionally, I had fulfilling weekends, going skiing with my host family and attending shows. On January 19, there was a high school-only dance night party at school, and I had a great time dancing from 6 pm to 9 pm. Although there are only a few months left until I return to Japan, I want to continue my study efforts and make the most of the remaining exchange student experience.
