アメリカ1年留学　Nさん

I came America 5 months ago. It’s December but the temperature is chilly and very comfortable.

I am troubled that I can’t make more friends. Before I came to study abroad, I thought there were many foreign students from other countries. However, since there are only two Japanese including myself, I realize that it is very difficult to make friends with local children. But there are some students who talk to me when they find me. I’m glad that friend listened to my poor English hard. I wanted to improve my English so that I could talk to them more often.

My school had no club activities, and I was in a tennis club at a different school.

I have a lot of friends at that school, so I’ve always wanted to change schools.

After all, if you join club activities, you can get along with local students , so I would like you to do club activities at the school I go to.

Also, December is the Christmas season that I was looking forward to.On Christmas Eve, I went to my host family’s parents’ house and had a Christmas party.  I was woken up at 5 o’clock by my host sister to open a Christmas present.I was very happy to receive many presents such as tennis rackets, headphones and blankets.

I want to enjoy the other half of my study abroad life.

アメリカに来て5ヶ月が経ちました。12月だけれど肌寒いくらいでとても過ごしやすい気温です。

私が最近思うのが私の学校には私含め日本人2人しか留学生がいなく小さい学校で部活もないので友達を増やせないことに困ってます。授業が隣の席で話す事はあっても中々「仲のいい」友達を作ることができません

留学に来る前は他の国からの留学生も沢山いると思っていたけど実際私含め日本人2人しかいなく現地の子と友達になるのは中々難しいんだなと痛感してます。

ですが、何人かはすごく私を見つけたら声かけてくれる子がいて私のぎこちない英語でも一生懸命聞いてくれてとても嬉しいです。その子達ともっと沢山話せるように英語上手くなりたいなと思いました。

私の学校は部活もなく私は違う学校のテニス部に入っていたのでそっちの学校の方が沢山友達がいて転校したいなとずっと思ってます笑やっぱり部活に入ると現地の子とも仲良くなれるので私の通ってる学校も部活やって欲しいなっておもいます。

また、12月は私が楽しみにしていたクリスマスシーズンです。

クリスマスイブにホストファミリーの両親の家に行ってクリスマスパーティーをしました。ホストファミリーの親戚からもクリスマスプレゼントで本とお金をもらえました。

クリスマスはホストシスターに5時に起こされてツリーの下に沢山あるクリスマスプレゼントを開けました。テニスラケットやヘッドホン、ブランケットなどたくさんのプレゼントをもらえてとても嬉しかったです。

留学生活も残り半分楽しみたいと思いました。
