アメリカ3カ月留学　Sさん

It is now almost a week until I return to Japan. Looking back, it was a very fulfilling study abroad experience with no troubles. This month at school, we had various events such as the Homecoming Dance, field trips, and movie nights. Homecoming is a big event at American schools, and everyone enjoyed dancing until late at night. I was very happy to be able to wear dresses that I would not normally wear in Japan. Before the Homecoming Dance, there was a football game and a party.

For the movie night, the students prepared everything and watched a horror movie. I thought it would not be that scary since it was a school movie, but it was very scary. But we had a great time watching the movie with our friends.

We also went to an art museum in LA and to the beach for a field trip. At the beach we played volleyball and had some fun in the ocean. It was very fun. It was a two-hour bus ride each way, but it was such a good time that I was not bored on the bus. Two days before I leave for home, we have another field trip to an amusement park, which I am really looking forward to. There are many events at the school and all the classes are fun, so I am really enjoying my time here.

This month Ivalso went to Las Vegas with my host family. We saw the fountain show at the Bellagio, went to the Las Vegas Sign, and visited many other places, and it was a great memory for me.

I think Ihave had a great time in the U.S. Although it has only been three months, I have had so many experiences that I can’t write about them all in this report. I will cherish the rest of my week in the U.S. more than ever.

　私が日本に帰国するまで残り約1週間になりました。振り返るとトラブルもなく、とても充実した留学生活でした。今月学校ではホームカミングダンスや校外学習、映画鑑賞などさまざまなイベントがありました。ホームカミングとはアメリカの学校の一大イベントで約１ヶ月かけて準備をし、当日はみんなで夜までダンスをして楽しみました。日本では普段着ることのないドレスを着れてとても嬉しかったです。ホームカミングダンスの前にはフットボールの大会が開かれたり、前夜祭のようなものがありとても盛り上がりました。

映画鑑賞では生徒が全て準備をし、夜学校に集まって、ホラー映画を見ました。学校で見る映画なのでそこまで怖くないだろうと思っていましたが、想像以上に怖くて驚きました。でも友達と一緒に見ながらだったので楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。

また私たちは校外学習でLAの美術館とビーチに行きました。校外学習といっても日本のように学習を目的とした旅行ではなく、遠足に近い旅行でした。ビーチではバレーボールをしたり軽く海に入ったりし、とても楽しかったです。片道2時間のスクールバスでの移動でしたがバスの中でも退屈のしないあっという間の1日でした。私が帰国する2日前にはまた別の校外学習があり、ずっと行きたかった遊園地に行けるのでとても楽しみです。学校では沢山のイベントがある上、授業もすべて楽しいので本当に充実した日々を送っています。

そして今月はホストファミリーにラスベガスへ連れて行ってもらいました。ベラージオの噴水ショーやラスベガスサインなど、さまざまな場所を観光できとても良い思い出になりました。

3ヶ月という僅かな留学期間でしたが、レポートに書ききれない程多くの経験ができ、とてもアメリカを堪能したと思います。残りの1週間今まで以上に大切に過ごしたいと思います。
