アメリカ1年留学　Nさん

I came to America three months ago. The first month felt like a long time.  I’m surprised that it’s already been three months since I left Japan. I wanted to cherish every single day.

Also, there were three events this month.

First, the first semester is over. America uses a four-term system. I can always see my grades on my smartphone. It’s very convenient because I can easily see if I have been given homework, and check my grades, attendance, absence, and lateness. My grades are all right so far.

Second, there was fall break. There is no fall break in Japan, but there were about 5 days in America. During the fall break, I played tennis with my friends, watched movies at home, and went to visit my host father’s parents.

Third, the tennis season is over. The last competition was a high school state competition. I was able to make it to the top four as a single.If you reach the top four or higher in this state’s competition, I can qualify for a tournament in Las Vegas.The Las Vegas competition will feature high school students from four states in the southwestern United States (California, Nevada, Utah and Idaho) in November.The tennis season is over and I think this will probably be the last tennis match, so I would like to enjoy it.

It’s only been three months since I came to America, and I still have a long way to go with my English.When I went to the pool with my tennis friends, I was able to think that the conversation continued without relying on translation, so I wanted to continue doing my best.

アメリカに来て3ヶ月が経ちました。時間が経つのが最近すごい早く感じています。

最初の一ヶ月はすごい長く感じていたけれど、もう日本を出発して3ヶ月も経ったという時間のは早さにびっくりしています。もっと1日1日を大切にしていこうと思いました

また今月は大きな出来事が３つありました。

1つ目は一学期が終わったことです。アメリカは4学期にわかれていて、そのうちの1学期が終わりました。成績はいつでも自分のパスワードと学校のナンバーがあれば見れるのでなんの宿題を出していないとか、成績、出席や欠席、遅刻などを簡単に見ることができるのですごい便利です。私の成績は今のところ大丈夫です！

2つ目は秋休みがあったことです。日本では秋休みはありませんがアメリカでは５日間ほど秋休みがありました。秋休みではテニスを友達としたり、映画を家で見たり、ホストファザーの両親の家に遊びに行ったりしました。

３つ目はテニスのシーズンが終わった事です。最後の大会は高校の州の大会でした。

私はシングル1で出させてもらいベスト4に入ることができました。この州の大会でベスト4以上になるとラスベガスである大会の出場資格がもらえます。ラスベガスの大会は

アメリカ南西部の４州（カルフォルニア、ネバダ、ユタ、アイダホ）のベスト4に入った高校生達が集まって開かれる大会で11月にあります。テニスシーズンが終わってしまってテニスの試合もこれでおそらく最後になると思うので楽しみたいと思います。

まだアメリカに来て3ヶ月で英語力はまだまだまだですが、テニスの友達と2人でプールに遊びに行った時につたない英語で翻訳に頼らず会話が続けられていたことに少しは成長できてるのかなと自分でも思うことができたのでこれからも頑張っていきたいと思いました。
