アメリカ3カ月留学　Sさん

It has been a month since I arrived in the United States. Last month, every day was full of surprises, but now I have gotten used to it and am enjoying a fulfilling study abroad experience. This month I went to Hollywood, Santa Monica Beach, and Disneyland. I was very happy to see the Hollywood sign and the Walk of Fame, which I had only seen in pictures.

Various sporting events were held at the school and I actively participated in them. I am not good at sports, but it was great to participate and make friends. I also took my graduation picture this month. I was very happy because I did not expect to be in the graduation album as an international student. In the photo, I wore a gown and cap called an academic dress. It is not common to wear them at graduation ceremonies at Japanese universities, but I was very happy to be able to leave my picture dressed in an American style. At the end of this month, we will have a big school event called Homecoming. We are preparing for Homecoming in class, and I am very much looking forward to it. I will continue to enjoy my study abroad experience and do my best.

アメリカに来て１ヶ月が経ちました。先月は毎日が驚きの連続でしたが今はもう随分慣れ、充実した留学生活を送っています。今月はロサンゼルスにあるハリウッドやサンタモニカビーチ、ディズニーランドなどに行き、とても濃い１ヶ月でした。今まで写真でしか見たことがなかったハリウッドサインやウォーク・オブ・フェイムが実際に自分の目で見られて、とても嬉しかったです。

学校ではいろいろなスポーツのトーナメントが行われており、私も積極的に参加しました。スポーツは苦手なのですが、積極的に参加することで友達を増やすことができました。また今月は卒業写真の撮影もしました。留学生の私も卒業アルバムに載れるとは思っていなかったのでとても嬉しいです。写真を撮る際にはアカデミックドレスと言われるガウンとキャップを被りました。日本でも卒業式に着用する大学が少しばかりありますが、アメリカらしい服装をして写真を残すことができてとても嬉しかったです。そして今月末はホームカミングという学校の一大イベントがあります。授業ではホームカミングに向けて準備を進めており、とても楽しみにしています。これからも留学生活を楽しみながら頑張っていこうと思います。
