It’s been a week since I arrived in America. When I arrived in the United States, I didn’t feel that I was still in the United States, but everyone around me was speaking in English, and I finally realized that I was really there. This past week went by so fast. My host family is very kind and I am well treated. Their hobby is watching movies, and I also watch movies with them on my days off. Also, they work in an elementary school, and I also went to their elementary school and played with elementary school students. Communication with the student was a very good experience.

At school, I take classes such as English, photography and art. In the English class, I work with my friends in group work, and I’m learning a lot. Photography classes are a good opportunity to take pictures at various places in the school and get to know the school. Every class is very fun.

Many of the students at the school are kind, and a lot of people talk to me. Before studying abroad, I was worried about whether I could make friends, but I’m very happy that there are many students who actively talk to me. Even people I’ve never talked to praise me for what I’m wearing, and every day is very fun. The teachers at the school also draw pictures and explained them so that I could understand them easily, which is helpful.

I hope I can have a wonderful time for the remaining 10 weeks.

アメリカに到着して1週間経ちました。アメリカに到着した時にはまだアメリカにいるという実感がなかったのですが、周りの人たちがみんな英語で喋っているのを聞いて、やっと「私はアメリカにいるんだ」と実感しました。この1週間はとてもあっという間でした。　　

私のホストファミリーはとても優しく、よくしてもらっています。彼女達の趣味は映画鑑賞で、休みの日には私も一緒に映画を見ています。また彼女達は小学校で働いており、私も彼女達の小学校に行って小学生と一緒に遊びました。彼らとのコミュニケーションはとてもいい経験になりました。

学校では英語、写真や美術などの授業を受けています。英語の授業では、グループワークで友達と作業をし、とても勉強になっています。写真の授業は学校のいろいろな場所で写真を撮り、学校を知る良い機会になっています。どの授業もとても楽しいです。

学校の生徒は優しい人が多く、たくさんの人が話しかけてくれます。留学前は友達が作れるか不安でしたが、積極的に話しかけてくれる生徒が多くとても嬉しいです。話したことのない人でも私が身につけているものについて褒めてくれたり、毎日がとても楽しいです。学校の先生方も私が理解しやすいように絵を書いて説明してくれたりし助かっています。

残りの10週間、後で振り返ったときに悔いがないように有意義に過ごせたらなと思っています。
