It’s getting warm in Oregon. What about Japan? We still sometimes need a jacket but I’m glad that I can see nice weather lately.

I had fun events this month, so I want to share them with you.

We went to Mt. Hoodoo on a ski trip. This was one of the events that I really looked forward to. I started preparing for it last December. I had done skiing before but it had been a while so I was kind of nervous. It was the first time for some of my friends. Also, there are a lot of friends that are really good at it. They helped me and gave me tips. The difference in the snow between Japan and Hoodoo I felt is that the snow at Hoodoo was softer and had more powder than in Japan. However, I am still not sure because it is just based on my experience and it was snowing when we were skiing. There was always new snow that just fell. which is why it was very soft and like powder. Also, I tried not to make my ski’s point in a V, which we called “pizza” form. Usually that is a good way to stop, but in the powder, we needed to stop with both skis pointing straight.  We called the form that is to stop. I fell a lot but my friends and also people that I never knew helped me. I tried a Black Diamond ski run, which is a more advanced route, I fell and got stuck. I don’t know why but my friend and I were laughing. And the people were on the lift asked us,  “ What are you guys doing?” and my friend said, “She is taking a break.” It was so much embarrassing for me. But everything that happened to me made really nice memories. I cannot forget.

Also, we went to the Blazers game!! The Trail Blazers are a basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. It was my first time going to a basketball game. We went there by school bus. I like going somewhere by school bus. Even though it is not warm inside, I feel like it is special for me.  Of course, I cheered for the Blazers, but unfortunately, they lost. They played very well for the first half of the game, but maybe they got tired.

You might not believe this, but these events happened in a week! I think you guys can tell there are a lot of fun things in Livingstone. This is one of the things I like about Livingstone. I really appreciate my teachers and students that planned the events, them, and my host family that is willing to take me to join those events.

We do have more events after March too. We are going to go on a week-long trip to a place called Rosario. I am so excited.

I will tell you about my experience throughout my report. Thank you for reading.
