アメリカ留学レポート　Kさん

arrived in Oregon 5 month ago and I have completed my fifth month in the US. I’m a little sad that studying abroad is half finished. There was a dance competition this month, and we got second place. Sadly, this is the last time we use this routine. We will have another dance competition with a different routine from February, so please look forward to it. Also,  I took a test recently. This test is like a final exam and it’s very important for me and everyone. Unlike Japan, all students take tests on the same schedule, so the tests they take are different from each person. The tests I took were Algebra, English and Religion tests. Don’t worry, I was able to pass them! Also, the new timetable started on Monday. I like the second semester very much because I have many of my friends in each class. There are a lot of subjects that I like too. I met five new exchange students. Four students are Japanese and one student is Korean. We were able to be good friends. With them, I spoke Japanese directly for the first time in a long time. I was very happy but what I thought was that if there are people from the same country, they want to be with each other. This way, it’s hard to talk to native speakers and make new friends. So I’m glad that there were no Japanese people in the first five months. I will tell them about this.

アメリカに来て5ヶ月が経ちました。留学も残り半分となり、少し寂しいです。今月はまたダンスの大会があり2位を勝ち取る事ができました。そしてこの作品は今回で最後となり、2月からは違う作品を踊ります。大会も控えているので、楽しみにしていて下さい。

そして私はテストを受けました。このテストは期末テストのような、とても大きなテストです。でも日本とは違い人によって受けるテストが違います。私が受けたテストは数学と英語と宗教のテストです。安心して下さい、私は良い成績を取ることができました！そして月曜日から新しい時間割がスタートしました。私は二学期がとても好きです。なぜなら、多くのお友達と授業のクラスが一緒だからです。それと私が好きな教科が沢山あるからです。そして新しい5人の留学生に出会いました。4人が日本人で1人が韓国人です。私たちは仲良くなることができました。そして私はとても久しぶりに日本語を直接口に出して話しました。とても嬉しかったです。やっぱり同じ国の人がいるとその人同士と一緒に居たくなってなかなか現地の人と話せなかったり、お友達になれなかったりするんだなと思いました。だから私は最初の5ヶ月日本人が誰1人いなくて良かったと思いました。彼らにもこのことは伝えようと思います。
