It’s been about 3 months since I came here.  I went to Salt Lake City and Oregon this month.  In Salt Lake City, my friend’s host mom took me to Chinatown and Halloween Park.  I was really impressed because there are many Asian foods even called Chinatown.  I bought some noodles, kimchi, udon, gyoza and natto.  I’ve wanted my host family to eat natto, so I’m going to try it when I serve Japanese food next month.  When I went to Salt Lake City, it was early October, and I was excited about Halloween.  At the Halloween Park, many pumpkins were sold and there were haunted houses and maze.  I didn’t want to go to haunted houses, but I was forced to go twice.  I was most scared with a person who was chasing us with chainsaw.  Also, we had fall break for about a week this month.  My host family took me to Oregon.  The drive time was about 10 hours the most a day,  so I felt like I spent the most time in a car in my life.  We went to Oregon for about 2 days.  We stayed on tree house.  There were so many suspension bridge.  Also there were light-ups at the night.  They were very beautiful.  We experienced horse riding and ZIP line.  On the ZIP line, we climbed up to the top of the tree and used something like a Tarzan rope to move from there.  When I climbed up the tree, I was little scared.  But it was really fun.  I want to try again!!!  And in the horse riding, we explored about one hour in the forest.  I thought it was amazing how it continued to move forward even on steep slopes and place with water.  It was so beautiful and mysterious in the forest.  I’d love to ride it every day.  When I said I wanted to go to the beach on the way home, they took me to the beach in California. I saw a wild sea lion there.  It was so cute lying on the rock.  Also, I ate many kinds of jerky in the car. The deer jerky was the best.  I was surprised to see that it was already snowing in the north.  I heard that my city doesn’t have snow.  But grandparents’ city have some snow.  So I would like to go again.  Before Halloween, most American carve pumpkins.  When I told them I had never carved pumpkins, they were very surprised.  And then, we carved pumpkins together.  I made cat face.  The hardest part was getting the inside out of the pumpkin out.  But I was glad to make cute one.  Also, I joined dance party with host family.  The most surprising thing was dancing with unknown people.  I felt it was a culture difference.  We did line dancing and took off one shoe and danced with the person who took it.  I couldn’t dance well, but everyone kindly taught me and I had fun.  Also, I went to Fiesta Fun.  They have bowling, go-cart and shooting etc.  The shooting game where we hit people with laser was realistic and super fun.  But I scored the lowest.  It was my first time playing bowling, but I could get strikes.  The result was also the lowest.  After bowling they took me to haunted house again.  The haunted house had such high quality.  I crossed a bridge that was foggy and was spinning around due to illusions, and I walked through a place where laser were passing through. The ghosts were also real and scary.  I don’t want to go there again.  Finally, it’s Halloween!! My costume was Kiki’s delivery. I thought that the popularity of Ghibli was amazing because so many people knew it.  Some people were dressed as Nausica.  At school, we had concert.  The concert had dance performances, singing and secret boxes.  The quality of everyone’s costumes was high, so it was a lot of fun to watch them.   My favorite was Luke from STAR WARS.  At the night, we enjoyed Murder Mystery Dinner Party. We designated roles to each person, and then we acted as the. character.  I acted as a dancer. It was difficult to memorize lines and secret.   At last, we watched mystery movies.  It was super fun this month because I could go to various places.  I’m excited with next month!!!

ユタ州に来て3か月が経ちます!最近は発音などスピーキングに苦戦しています。

今月はソルトレイクとオレゴンへ旅行に行きました。ソルトレイクでは友達のマザーがチャイナタウンとハロウィンパークに連れて行ってくれました。チャイナタウンとは言っても中国にかぎらず、アジアのものが本当にたくさん売っていて感動しました。私はラーメンやキムチ、うどん、餃子、納豆などを買いました。納豆は前から絶対ホストファミリーに食べてもらいたかったので来月、日本食を振る舞う時に食べてもらおうと思います。　

ソルトレイクに行った時は10月序盤でしたがハロウィンで盛り上がっていました。ハロウィンパークではかぼちゃが沢山売っていたりお化け屋敷や迷路などもありました。お化け屋敷は本当に行きたくなかったのですが2回も行かされました。チェンソーで追いかけてくる人が1番怖かったです。

また、今月は約1週間ほど秋休みがありました。ホストファミリーがオレゴン州へ連れて行ってくれました。車の移動時間が最高で一日10時間ほどあり人生で1番車に滞在していた気がします。2日ほどかけてオレゴン州へ行きました。オレゴン州ではツリーハウスにとまりました！沢山吊り橋があったり夜にはライトアップもされていて本当に綺麗でした。ツリーハウスでは初めて乗馬とZIPラインをしました。ZIPラインでは木の上まで登ってそこからターザンロープのようなもので移動します。木に登ったときに高すぎて少し怖かったですか本当に楽しかったです。またやりたいです。乗馬では森の中を1時間くらい探索しました。急な坂や水があるところでもどんどん進んで行っていてすごいなと思いました。森の中はとても綺麗で神秘的でした。毎日乗りたいくらい楽しかったです。

帰り際に海に行きたいと言ったらカルフォルニアの海まで連れて行ってくれました。そこで野生のアシカを見ました!!岩の上で寝そべっていてとても可愛かったです。また、車の中で色んなジャーキーを食べました。鹿が1番美味しかったです。北の方はもう雪が降っていて驚きました。私が住んでいるところでは雪は降らないそうです。ですがおばあちゃんの家の方へ行くと毎年沢山雪が降っているそうです。もう一度行きたいです。

ハロウィン前、アメリカではみんなかぼちゃ彫りをするそうです。一度もやった事がないと言ったらすごく驚かれました。その後一緒にパンプキン彫りをしました。私は猫を作りました。かぼちゃの中身をだすのが1番大変でした。 可愛くできたので良かったです。またこの間、前に少しだけ預かってもらっていたホストファミリーとダンスパーティーへ行きました。知らない人と踊ったのが一番驚きました。文化の違いだなと感じました。ラインダンスや片方靴を脱いでその靴を取った人と踊ったりしました。私は全然ダンスが出来なかったのですがみんな優しく教えてくれて楽しかったです。

また、フィエスタファンという所に行きました。そこではボーリングやゴーカート、シューティングゲームをやりました。シューティングゲームはレーザーで人を打つのでリアルで楽しかったです。最下位でした。ボーリングは初めてやったのですが1回だけストライクがとれてとても嬉しかったです!!結果は最下位でした。その後はまたお化け屋敷に連れていかれました。そこのお化け屋敷はすごくクオリティーが高かったです。霧がでていたり錯覚でぐるぐる回っている橋を渡ったりレーザーが通っているところを歩いたりしました。お化けもリアルすぎて怖かったです。もう行きたくないです。最後にハロウィンです！私は魔女の宅急便のキキの格好をしました。色んな人が知っていてジブリの知名度はすごいと思いました。ナウシカのコスプレをしている人もいて嬉しかったです。学校ではシアターでライブがありました。ダンスをみたりシークレットボックスや歌っている人もいてすごく盛り上がっていました。みんなの仮装のクオリティが凄すぎて見るのが楽しかったです。私のお気に入りはスターウォーズのルークでした。ライトセーバーがリアルで凄かったです。

夜は殺人ミステリーパーティをしました。それぞれ役を選んでそれになりきって犯人を探すパーティです。私はダンサー役をやりました。言わなければいけないセリフや設定や秘密などを知っておく必要があるので大変でした。最後はみんなで映画をみました。今月は色んなところへ行けて色んな経験ができ本当に楽しかったです。来月もたのしみです！
